The expansion of BalNeO to India could enhance the understanding of stratospheric aerosols and their impact on climate, including surface temperature and the hydrological cycle. This research is particularly relevant for India, given its vulnerability to climate change and the role of the Asian monsoon in transporting surface pollution to the stratosphere. However, the project also highlights the risks of geoengineering and the need for robust monitoring systems to detect artificial aerosol injections.
