ISRO has emphasized the importance of docking technology for future lunar exploration and human space missions.
Speaking at a National Space Day event in Lucknow, M R Raghavendra, Director of ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC), highlighted the role of docking in bringing lunar samples back to Earth and assembling India's proposed Bharatiya Antariksh Station (BAS).

Impact & Risks

The development of docking technology is expected to significantly enhance India's capabilities in space exploration and human spaceflight. It will enable the country to undertake complex missions, such as returning lunar samples and building a space station. However, these advancements require meticulous planning and execution, as well as substantial investment in research and development. The success of such missions could inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers, but any setbacks could delay India's space ambitions.
