A brush fire, named the Volcano fire, broke out Tuesday near Via Volcano and Tenaja Road in unincorporated Murrieta, Riverside County, California.
The fire quickly grew to over 100 acres, prompting evacuation orders in La Cresta, which were later downgraded to warnings.

Impact & Risks

The Volcano fire briefly forced evacuations in La Cresta, affecting residents and at least one property off Trails Circle. No injuries to civilians or firefighters have been reported. The fire's proximity to areas previously burned during the 2019 Tenaja fire raises concerns about recurring wildfire risks. In San Luis Obispo County, the Bear fire threatened a solar ranch, while the Twitchel fire remained smaller in scale. High temperatures and low humidity inland are exacerbating fire conditions, posing risks to firefighting efforts and nearby communities.
