• Subtropical Storm Josephine, the 10th named storm of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season, has formed off the Mid-Atlantic coast.
• As of Thursday morning, the storm was located 195 miles southeast of Nantucket Island, Massachusetts, with sustained winds of 65 mph (104.6 km/h).

Impact & Risks

While Josephine is not expected to make landfall, breezy to windy conditions will affect parts of the East Coast, particularly Cape Cod, Massachusetts, through Thursday. Coastal flooding is possible during high tide from the Mid-Atlantic to Cape Cod through Friday. However, the majority of the storm's rain and wind will remain offshore, minimizing risks to inland areas. Residents in coastal regions should remain cautious of localized flooding and strong winds near the shore.
