• Middle Tennessee is under multiple weather alerts as severe storms and extreme heat are expected through Tuesday, July 28,
• A Heat Advisory will be in effect for most of the region from 10 a.m. Monday to 8 p.m. Tuesday, while an Extreme Heat Warning will cover parts of the area from 10 a.m. Monday to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Temperatures are forecasted to reach highs of 95°F to 98°F (35-36.7°C), with heat index values soaring to 110°F (43.3°C). Severe thunderstorms are also anticipated overnight Sunday, with risks of damaging winds and localized flooding.

Impact & Risks

The extreme heat poses a high risk of heat-related illnesses, particularly for outdoor workers, children, and the elderly. Pets are also at risk and should be kept indoors. Overnight storms may bring damaging winds and heavy rainfall, increasing the risk of localized flooding and power outages. Residents in low-lying areas should remain alert for potential flooding.
