Impact & Risks

The Severe Cyclonic Storm 'Murasu' poses a significant risk to coastal areas of south Andhra Pradesh, particularly between Nellore and Narsapur. High wind speeds of up to 120 kmph could lead to structural damage, uprooting of trees, and disruption of power and communication lines. Heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu, Madhya Maharashtra, Assam, Odisha, and Kerala may result in localised flooding, waterlogging, and potential landslides in vulnerable areas. Fishermen and coastal communities are at heightened risk due to rough sea conditions.
