• New Mexico is experiencing a transition from dry and mild conditions to cooler temperatures and increased chances of rain.
• Currently, temperatures range from 30°F to 40°F (-1°C to 4°C) across much of the region, with northern areas starting off in the 20s (-6°C to -1°C) and far-southern and far-eastern areas in the 50s (10°C to 15°C).

Impact & Risks

The upcoming rain and thunderstorms may disrupt outdoor activities, particularly toward the end of the workweek and during Halloween weekend. Northern mountain areas could see snow, which may create hazardous travel conditions. While the rain is expected to be scattered, localized impacts such as slippery roads and reduced visibility are possible. Residents in higher elevations should prepare for colder conditions and potential snowfall (KRQE).
