The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for heavy to very heavy rainfall across several states in India as the monsoon remains active.
Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and eastern Madhya Pradesh are under an orange alert due to the significant weather threat.

Impact & Risks

Odisha is expected to face the most severe conditions, with heavy to very heavy rainfall and gusty winds of 40-50 km/h. These conditions may lead to transport disruptions, damage to vulnerable structures, and localised waterlogging. Uttarakhand is at risk of landslides and lightning, while Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir are also vulnerable to severe weather. Other states, including Assam, Meghalaya, Bihar, and coastal Karnataka, are under a yellow alert for heavy rainfall, which could impact daily activities and infrastructure.
