US · Published Aug 14, 2026
Three major wildfires are currently active in Oregon: the Henry Fire, Coyote Fire, and Shingle Fire.
As of August 13, 2026, the Henry Fire has burned 29,850 acres and is 97% contained, located 5 miles south of Paulina Guard Station.

Impact & Risks

The fires have led to reduced air quality and visibility in the region due to smoke impacts. Evacuation levels remain in effect for areas near the Shingle Fire, with Level 1 ('Get Ready') warnings in Wheeler County. Road closures and restrictions are in place, including parts of the Ochoco National Forest and Bureau of Land Management lands. The dry fuels and windy conditions pose a continued risk of fire spread.
