Residents in these areas face higher risks of heat-related illnesses, increased energy costs, and reduced quality of life. Older adults and low-income families are particularly vulnerable, as they may struggle to afford higher cooling bills or access adequate cooling facilities. The compounded effects of extreme heat, poor air quality, and limited resources highlight the urgent need for targeted interventions in these communities.
