The mudslides have caused one fatality and left several injured, including the bus conductor. Over 100 students from Kerala narrowly escaped harm as their buses stopped just 300 metres from the disaster site. Vehicular traffic has been severely disrupted, and tourist access to the district has been barred for three days. The heavy rains have also damaged infrastructure, including roads and buildings, posing risks to residents and travellers. The saturated terrain remains vulnerable to further landslides.
