In a historic event held in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, over 13,000 tribal students and women performed the traditional Dhimsa dance, setting a Guinness World Record.
The performance was organized to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the inauguration of the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram.

Impact & Risks

The record-breaking performance has significantly highlighted the cultural heritage of Andhra Pradesh's tribal communities, bringing them into the global spotlight. This recognition is expected to boost the morale of the tribal population and promote their traditional art forms. However, the challenge remains to sustain this momentum and ensure continued support for preserving and promoting tribal culture. The event also underscores the importance of inclusive development, as it coincided with the inauguration of a major infrastructure project in the state.
